Transcription

Our Transcription Centres convert print and other material into formats which blind and partially sighted people can read.

Information is transcribed into braille, audio and large print. We also have recording studios equipped with analogue and digital equipment.

Requests for transcription from customers include exam papers, curriculum material, magazines, financial and employment documentation.

We also offer specialist services such as transcription of braille into foreign languages, mathematics, music and tactile maps and diagrams.

Transcription services include a specialist print design team that works closely with customers from concept to the final design. It also provides guidance on large print design to customers keen to produce their own work.

Our See it Right guidelines give practical advice on designing, producing and planning for accessible information.

Take a tour of our Peterborough site to find out how accessible information is produced.

We have a dedicated team of volunteers who help us carry out vital transcription work. Find out about volunteering opportunities in your area.
